“Either he’s dead or my watch has stopped” This is a quote from the late comedian and actor – Groucho Marx.

I loved the Marx Brothers movies as a very young child – if I wanted to watch a comedy. However, it was murder mysteries that were my favorite.  The books I read included Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys.  As I grew older – I loved the Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle novels.  TV series included Columbo, Inspector Lewis and of course – Murder, She Wrote. To name of few movie whodunits – The Thin Man movies with William Powell and Myrna Loy, D.O.A., and all of the Sherlock Holmes Mysteries.

To quote the late Steven Sondheim “I like murder mysteries, the Agatha Christie kinds – where you know that it’s all going to be neatly wound up at the end”

I am a cozy murder mystery buff.  However, I love a well written mystery that gets my attention and tells a story with intimately revealing the who, what, where and why.

I have been a nurse for many years and to unwind – I will either read a novel, watch a tv series or go to see the most recent murder mystery movie.

I am of the opinion that whatever time or money I spend is valuable, I believe it is of utmost importance that the ending of the novel, series or movie – is money well spent.  I am sure many of you have had the awful experience with an ending that just didn’t make sense, the final unveiling of the alleged perpetrator was not at all in keeping with the clues… asking yourself “why did I read this book, see this movie or watch this tv series and have the ending be a be a disappointment.

I will be sure to give honest and fair reviews and welcome your thoughts and observations. Hopefully my reviews will help you decide what you will be reading or watching. I am hoping that you will enjoy and be challenged by what I share on my Mystery and Me website.
